Description
If the stepped channel flow in steep slope channel becomes fully aerated flow, a plunging flow with a large downstream depth becomes a hydraulic jump which is formed on the slope because of the buoyant effect. In addition, B-jump is the hydraulic jump which is formed partially on the slope and partially in a horizontal portion. In the case of this photograph, the angle of channel slope is 55 degrees and the value of the relative step height (ratio of step height to critical depth) is 1.0. The flow condition was found in accordance with the research project of Nihon University, College of Science and Technology and the experiment was conducted at Environmental Hydraulic Laboratory of Nihon University (College of Science and Technology).
