Description
St Laurent river, Québec, Canada. Rapids of Lachine, upstream of Montréal, looking from right bank on 15 May 2004. The Lachine canal was built in 1821-1825 to allow commercial shipping around the Lachine rapids. He was disused in 1959 after the completion of the Voie Maritime du St Laurent (St Laurent Seaway).
