Completed in 1680 by
Pierre-Paul RIQUET (1604-1680), the Canal du Midi links the Atlantic Ocean
and the Mediterranean Sea. The Canal du Midi starts near Béziers and ends
at Toulouse, where it is continued by the Canal Latéral de la Garonne. The
latter flows parallel to the Garonne river between Toulouse and Langon.
