Antidunes – Vorz creek (France)

Description

This video was taken on 2005/08/23 on Vorz creek which is a tributary of Isere River (Fr.), during a high flood episod.

Here, a pool designed for solid material retention has been completely filled with fine material. A series of antidunes form and migrates upstream. The most upstream antidune grows until it becomes unstable, collapses, and suddenly releases its material downstream. The process is periodical with approx. period of 15 sec. (typical antidunes width is approx. 1m).
